Mogees David Li CEO and Co-Founder e-mail interview by Insiden

1) What's the difference between Billing Revolution and Mogees?
"We believe the Mogees solution will result in higher conversion than the Billing Revolution solution for a couple of reasons. First of all, Billing Revolution accepts only credit cards, Mogees accept credit cards and PayPal. There are more than 150 million PayPal users globally, who prefers to pay using PayPal instead of having to type in all of their credit card information. Secondly, our SDK is truly integrated into the mobile application, vs. pointing to a customized URL through the mobile browser. From the consumer perspective, the Mogees payment flow will seem more seamless, which also results in higher payment conversion."

2) What are your avantages versus generic payment solutions (I mean on internet or mobile internet) ?
"Mogees was designed with the mobile application developer in mind. Each of our SDK is customized to make it easier for the mobile application developer to integrate. It also enables us to make each payment flow optimized for each mobile platform. This translates into easier integration for the developers and faster payment for the consumers."

3) Don't you think that the generic payment solutions will issue specific option for app ? I remember that Paypal is already in some mobile app.
"PayPal is a great service, especially for eBay sellers and website merchants. Unlike Mogees, PayPal is not a mobile payments company. Our solution has been designed specifically for the mobile environment. Our SDK is much easier to integrate than the solutions offered by generic payment solutions. Our mobile one click purchase is also easier for the consumers than the generic payment solutions offer."

4) Do you think that i-tunes (or black berry) will accept to validate app with your payment methods ? I mean with a payment method which is not the in-house billing ?
"The world is moving towards more open systems. Android was developed to be an open eco-system. Blackberry/Rim is also moving towards more openness.
They just had their first developer conference. To answer your specific question, our first iPhone SDK will enable app developers to sell value added content or services, which is consistent with the Apple developer distribution agreement. The Mogees solution is a complement to Apple App Store and other distribution platforms."

5) The challenge is may be to implement in mogees the good payment solutions (but you can not implement all) : after google checkout what are the next payments solutions you plan to introduce : amazon payment ? revolution money ? other ?
"Our philosophy is to listen closely to user feedback and improve our product through quick iterations. We do expect there will be demand from our users to offer more payment options, Google Checkout, Amazon Payments are both possibilities. We will need to balance this need with other enhancements like rolling out SDKs for other mobile platforms, or adding new functionality to the existing SDK. "

6) Are you PCI compliant ?
"Given our PayPal background, we take security very seriously. Mogees is built using industry leading best practices."

7) What is your legal model : you buy and sale (like billing revolution), or you are means of payment (banking agreement like paypal), or only a payment processor like First Data ?
"We are the most similar to Billing Revolution in this regard."
